Sandra "Sandy" Elizabeth Cole Mooneyham
2/26/1956 - 1/10/2010



Sandra ("Sandy") Elizabeth Cole Mooneyham, 53, died Jan. 10, 2010, at Indigo Palms assisted living facility of Daytona Beach while under hospice care after a long illness.

A Daytona Beach native, Sandy was born to Rose Mary Cole and the late W. Warren Cole, Jr., now of Daytona Beach Shores, on Feb. 26, 1956.

She was a gifted artist who enjoyed oil painting and worked for many years as a graphic artist.  Sandy was a devoted mother to her son, Matthew Leonard Mooneyham, now of San Augustine, TX, caring for him throughout the many surgeries he enduerd since suffering critical burns in a childhood accident.  He is now a graduate student at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX.

Sandy graduated from Seabreeze High School and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Daytona Beach.  She lived much of her adult life in Houston, TX.  She had a lifelong love of horses and rode Western as well as English style, competing in dressage shows.

In addition to her mother and son, Sandy is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Mark Hester, Baton Rouge, LA., and Carol and Mike Czeczot, Daytona Beach; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen and Jeanna Cole of Summerfield, N.C., and John and Bette Cole of Ormond Beach.  She was also aunt to Jacob and Jessie Grace Cole, Ormond Beach and Caroline and Jackson Cole, Summerfield, N.C.  The family wishes to thank everyone who provided such loving and professional care for Sandy in recent years, including the staff at Indigo Palms and Odyssey Healthcare Hospice, and to the many people who helped in so many other ways.

A private service is planned for a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Presbyterian Counseling Center, 430 Braddock Ave., FL. 32118.
